Please join us for an evening of fiction and photography with Blue Mountain Center alums Helen Benedict and Nina Berman presenting new works to benefit the Blue Mountain Center’s Harriet Barlow Residency Fund.

Helen and Nina recently completed projects they were working on at a Focus Residency at BMC in 2014. Helen will be reading from her new novel Wolf Season, and Nina will be presenting work from An autobiography of Miss Wish. BMC is proud to have played a role in the creation of this work.

BMC Director Ben Strader will be on hand to talk about the Center’s new initiative to honor founding Director Harriet Barlow’s 36 years of love and dedication to BMC. This new Residency will not only enable a person to be part of BMC each year, but also celebrate a concept central to Harriet Barlow’s moral vision—the Commons—by supporting individuals (activists, artists and creative leaders) whose work focuses on our shared responsibility to one another and the planet.

Books will be available to be purchased and signed, as well as tours of the Lower East Side Girls Club! Light refreshments will be served.

Admission to this event is FREE but we ask guests to consider making a donation to Blue Mountain Center’s Harriet Barlow Residency Fund.
